I was in Grade Two and there was a little Asian girl down hill from our apartment who walked to school with me. I think her family had a restaurant. This was about 1964. It was an experience.

Wrote... I have a cottage (grandparents live there) just past Lac Du Bonnet (across from Poplar Bay campground), so needless to say I am visiting quite often. Lac Du Bonnet is one of my favorite places to go. It is such a friendly place to be. Everyone is super nice, and it is a great atmoshpere for any age. Canada Day fireworks are the best fireworks I have ever seen...Such an AMAZING show! I will be there again for sure in July 2006. If anyone has a c ottage around Lac Du Bonnet, or lives in Winnipeg email me and next time I go to Lac Du Bonnet we could visit each other.

Wrote... My grandparents used to own a cabin just outside Lac Du Bonnet in a place called Bonnet Oakes. I stayed there with them every summer and loved every minute of it. They had to sell it in the sum mer of 2000 and I havnt been back since. I LOVED Lac Du Bonnet so much and felt so safe and care free there. If anyone is debating going camping there or just for a visit, GO! You'll never regret it. The town is beautiful, the people are great and the fir eworks are the best Ive ever seen!

Wrote... Hello my name is Eliza Hodge and I am now 26 years old. I moved to Lac du Bonnet when I was 14 and moved back to Winnipeg when I was 19. I am currently taking my Correctional Officers course and hope to be employed through Corrections by October 2003. I am working full time as well as a Commissionaire officer so at time it can be difficult but my parents who still live in Lac du Bonnet always give me the thumbs up and tell me that they are p roud of me and know I will do just fine. Since I have moved away from Lac du Bonnet I have done a number of thing one being apart of the Canadian Military and I would have stayed with the forces but I injuried myself. Wrote... Hello Lac Du Bonnet, My name is Ryan Slade, son of Sam Slade living in Lac Du Bonnet. I was surprised to see a Web site for LDB. I haven�t stepped foot in LDB since 1995. I grew up at the corner of McArthur and Macintosh with my Mother, Father, two older sisters and my younge r bother. I moved away to Quebec for over a year, then to Toronto, then Winnipeg. In Winnipeg I went back and finished high school, then I went to collage, worked and then to U of M. I moved out to Edmonton in 2001 and then to Edson, AB where I own Earthr ite Recycling, Edson largest recycler. I miss the water in Lac Du Bonnet and long summers in the sun. Wrote... I'll be making my 13th consecutive trip to Lac Du Bonnet on June 12th. Since I was 11 years old Lac Dut Bonnet has been our destination for annual fishing trips. I must say that the hospitali ty provided by places like Woody's, Drifters, and especially Whiteshell Air Service is second to none. The small community atmosphere really makes for a friendly trip. Hydro, NBPower, Romania most of the time until I retired Aug 2002. I'd love to hear from any of the people who knew me in the good old days. Oh, Yeah. Great site, went to high schol in LDB and nice to seee some farmilar names. Happy New Year too frinds in LDB and area. I spent almost a year in the area around Lac du Bonnet in the late fifties. After this I have revisited sevral times. I lived with my family in Old Pinowa.Worked for a while up at Point du Bois.Made lasting friensship with many peole in the area. I found Lac du Bonnet a beautiful and frindly place.

Just visiting in Calgary and missing Lac du Bonnet so I thought I'd check the site out. Very nicely done! Hope to be back home in LdB soon! To those of you not familar with Lac du Bonnet its one of the best resort areas in Manitoba, fishing and boating in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter. We moved here about 5 years ago and love it!

Hello, I was just searching on the internet for my late great great great grandmother Rosie Du Lac, as I came across this beauitiful site. Wow I just bet that there are thousands of other beauitiful towns like Lac du Bonnet secluded in the great Canadi an wilderness. As a teenager growing up in Wpg I would accompany my friend's family to Poplar Bay to help build their cabin which was located a few lots down from the USAF cabin. We would stop in LDB for some supplies and visit with my friend's relatives who owned t he general store in town. Later in life I served two tours with the military at Milner Ridge and on my second tour we chose to live in LDB and set up residence in Bert and Audry Woods trailer park. Those four years left a lasting impression with me as I became involved in many town activities with my young family. I played on the inaugural LDB Blues hockey team and can still remember some of the other players; the Enright brothers, Dancyt, A.Usakius and someone named Paul who was a real character. Hop efully the team is still going albeit with more skilled players. I met and had good times with a lot of other townspeople and have lots of good memories. I still drop by whenever I get the chance in my travels, to see my old friend Bill Lougheed, if he' s not in the woods or out in his boat. Now that I found your site I'll be logging on to see it's development and hopefully come across banterings from old friends. Great site!!! PS Those are my moose horns hanging in the Lakeland.
